The horrible thing about this blog is that it’s 6am and I just want to go to sleep after editing a final video all night—
but I promised to write this.
Don’t let an asshole ruin your day, or your week, or whatever you have going for you.
Don’t let one (or two or five) comments tear down what you’ve been working so hard towards. Don’t let anyone diminish what you are so proud of. Don’t let anyone tell you that you aren’t cutting it, or making it, or doing their version of “right.”
Basically, don’t let the asshole get you.
Just call this Lesson #53: Shitty people: The Sequel.
They’re holiness (how ironic) is usually the projection of deeper-seated issues, and you need to get out of there ASAP.
If you haven’t already, you’ll grow to learn when someone is trying to help you better yourself. And you should probably listen a little bit.
And you’ll also learn when someone is just being a dick.
just don’t let them.
You have two options.
You can walk away from it.
It’s okay, sometimes you are too much of a wussy to stand up to yourself—I get it.
Or you can stand up to it.
You don’t have to defend or explain yourself.
You simply just don’t have to tolerate it.
Show them sass.
Let them know you are running your life and you rock!
The third isn’t an option, and I’m requiring that you do it.
Don’t let an asshole get in the way of how great you are doing, and how hard you are working.
When you’re great—when you’re proud of what you’ve done, or who you are, or who you’ve become—one person can’t change that.
You’re doing great.
Tell ’em Annie.
